Protel voted "Product of the Year" for second time
SYDNEY, Australia – March 22, 2002 – Altium Limited (ASX: ALU), a leading developer of Windows-based electronic design and development software, is pleased to announce that Protel 99 SE has been voted “2001 Product of the Year” in the CAD/CAE category by the readers of Elektronik magazine – the leading specialist electronics magazine in Germany. 4000 Elektronik readers participated in Elektronik’s annual survey and chose Protel 99 SE – the board-level design system from Altium – as the CAD/CAE winner of “Product of the Year”. Altium’s Protel 99 SE won the CAD/CAE category ahead of Cadence’s OrCAD v9.2, and Innoveda’s XTK product. This is the second time that Protel 99 SE has won Elektronik’s “Product of the Year” – it also won the award in 1999.
Altium accepted the award at a ceremony held earlier this month and is honored to receive such recognition from the German Electronics market. With the upcoming release of the next-generation Protel product – Protel DXP – Altium looks forward to continuing to break down the barriers to innovation and technological advancement and provide every engineer, designer and developer with easy access to the best possible design tools.
